A clip score is four properties a clip has to have: an opening, a payoff, whether it stands alone, and its pace. Each one gets a sentence, so the score is something you can disagree with rather than a number to take on faith.
The cut is a suggestion, not a commitment
The in and out points are offsets, and the words either side of them are still there. Move them and the caption track does not need rebuilding.
What it will not do
It cannot make a recording interesting. On footage with nothing that stands alone, it will tell you so and cut fewer clips rather than pad the list — a project that stops early keeps the clips it did cut.
