A clip is not a unit of anything. An hour of recording that produces thirty clips costs sixty upload minutes, the same as an hour that produces four.
Upload minutes
One minute of source video, counted when a recording is processed.
One shared pool per workspace, reset when the billing period renews. Never called credits, and never counted per clip — re-cutting a recording you already paid for costs nothing.
Seats
One per owner, admin or editor. Viewers consume none.
A pending invitation to a paid role holds a seat until it is accepted or revoked, because a seat held open is a seat. Adding one mid-period is charged pro rata, and the screen shows the arithmetic before you confirm.
Overage
Minutes past the allowance, billed after the fact.
Bounded by a cap you set. Past the cap uploads are refused rather than charged — the point of a cap is that the surprise is the refusal, not the invoice.

What is an upload minute?
One minute of source video, counted when a recording is processed. It is not counted per clip: an hour of recording that produces thirty clips costs sixty minutes, not thirty times anything.
What happens when I run out?
On a paid plan, uploads keep working and the extra minutes are billed after the fact, up to a cap you set. Past the cap they are refused rather than charged. On Free there is no overage — uploads stop until the period renews.
Who needs a seat?
Owners, admins and editors. Viewers are free and there is no limit on them, which is the point of the role: a client can read everything and comment on any clip without costing anything. A pending invitation to a paid role holds a seat until it is accepted or revoked.
Can I add a seat mid-month?
Yes, and you are charged the part-period amount rather than a full month. The screen shows the arithmetic — the rate, the days left and the total — before you confirm.
Do unused minutes roll over?
No. The allowance resets when the billing period renews, and nothing else resets with it.
What happens if I downgrade?
If the plan you are moving to has fewer seats than you are using, the change is refused with the number, rather than removing somebody for you. Cancelling is different: the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
